More fun with pirate hats

May 27th, 2009

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!

Poor corduroy cat has been waiting patiently for me to make good on my end of our personal swap (she sent me the delightfully macabre needle felted two-headed kitten last month). Finally this week I got my butt in gear and finished up her gift!
As strange as it seems
Our theme was circus sideshow/pickled punk, so [...]

YARG!

May 21st, 2009

The fabulous Nven knit this amazing pirate hat (based on a similar one from Craftster) for the boy! The poor thing had a rough start: we received it mere moments before going to see the new Star Trek movie, so it came along to the theatre where it was passed around the group to try [...]

New page!

Due do popular demand (that’s you Lek!) I’ve added a costume gallery to this site. I’ve only had a chance to add a few costumes, but there will be more soon! As my sewing talents are rather limited, most of these costumes I’ve either designed or altered from existing clothing, or have done the makeup [...]

Pavi Largo Complete!

May 20th, 2009

Here is a quick little update with some photos of the boyfriend’s finished Pavi Largo ensemble. We went to a showing of Repo! Pavi’s distinguishing characteristic is his obsession with women, and more specifically, stealing their faces and wearing them. I’ve wanted to try my hand at mask making and prosthetics [...]

This is a costume piece for the Amber Sweet Zydrate Anatomy costume. The original bra runs in the neighborhood of US$295 which I thought was, quite frankly, ridiculous. Instead, I ordered 10 gross of 4mm economy hotfix glass rhinestones (from http://shop.dazzlemonkey.com) and picked up a bra from the Bay (I had a coupon AND it [...]

Gee’s earrings

May 13th, 2009

All components are sterling silver, including the hand made French ear wires, with Swarovski crystal accents. The earrings have a really nice movement to them. ^_^

Shiny

May 4th, 2009

Made this pendant for my friend Carolina’s 15th birthday. She’s been helping me out with my anatomy classes for a few years now as my assistant, so I figured she deserved something special for her birthday. She’s a big Firefly fan so it seemed appropriate. :)
For those not in the know, in the Firefly universe [...]

NOTE: The legal representatives of Whitewolf have requested that I remove the images  of  my pendant from my blog  as they feel it infringes on their copyrighted material (despite the fact that it is a fan creation and was not made for profit). Pretty lame considering I was mighty proud of how it turned out.
This [...]
