This is a new experiment with bamboo tiles. I find bamboo tiles always a little challenging to use because of the way they’re drilled, so I was trying to think of a way to incorporate this into a design instead of working around it like I usually do. I came up with this bolo-like design, with the tile acting as a slider (unlike a bolo though, the tile does not grip the chain). It can be worn two ways – long, with the tile at the ends of the chain, or the chain can be tied in a simple knot at any length underneath the tile to get the bolo effect. I used a 1.5mm sterling rolo chain finished with two smoky topaz Swarovski crystal drops. On the tile is a vintage image of a woman taking a big swig from (what I like to think is) a whiskey bottle. I made this for sweet Izzy for her birthday :)
