Sassy logo painting

A while ago I posted a digital version of my new logo, which I came up with when I wasn’t able to finish the painted version in time for my business cards. The painting is finished so I thought I’d share.

Acrylics on a 10×12″ canvas, with rhinestones, metal stars and star confetti detail on the branch. The lower raven also has a large rhinestone in its beak. I think overall it works a lot better than my original plan (the ravens were supposed to have jewelry hanging in their beaks).  I’m really pleased with how the branch turned out: its hard to see in the photos but the branch is painted metallic silver, and the stars are actually a shiny silver.  I always spray my paintings with a sealer but I’m starting to wonder if its necessary - it creates a lot of glare, and makes solid colours look uneven in photos (like the black - I promise you, its uniformly black in real life!). For now, I’ve finished the edges with a black ribbon with tiny white polka dots. I had it displayed at an event I was at last week, with my business cards laid out in front of it, and it got quite a bit of attention, not to mention its pretty visible from across the room ^_^

I really like this! I love the shine of the stars. The colors are wonderful too.
