Bee painting A quick experiment with acrylics and resin on a teensy 2.75″ x 2″ canvas. Worked pretty much as planned – this was basically a test to see if the paint needed to be sealed in some way before applying the resin to prevent the colours from bleeding (and the answer is no! yay!). I’m not sure how to deal with the canvas bowing under the weight of the resin though (you can see that the resin is thicker in the middle and the weave of the canvas shows through at the edges where its thin) – next time i’ll try applying a thicker coat of resin. Or perhaps I should avoid canvas altogether and go for wood.

Either way, I’m still really happy with how it turned out!

Cute! Maybe those flat canvas boards would work better?

Are you coming to A’s gig at Avant Garde this coming Saturday? If so, any chance you could bring a jar of honey for me to buy?
    Please?

Yeah, you might be right. or maybe I should just embrace it as one of the quirks of resin on canvas ^_^ it doesn’t look bad, but I have a resined canvas at home that I bought at an art show that’s perfectly level, which has me rather perplexed :)
Not sure if i’ll be there on saturday – I have guests from out of town so it’ll depend on what they want to do. If we do come, though, I’ll definitely bring you some honey! We could meet up somewhere otherwise if you want :)
