China Glaze On Safari Leopard Manicure
This is from quite a few weeks back (see, I was still doing my nails when I wasn’t posting this summer!). This manicure is directly inspired by Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. I had just acquired the China Glaze On Safari collection (which I will talk about in a minute) when she posted her Blinged Out Leopard manicure and I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to use these colours (love her blog, check her out – she has the best nails!). Like her, I’ve used China Glaze I’m Not Lion as my base, which is an absolutely gorgeous pale, antique gold glitter with holographic particles. The spots are done with Desert Sun, a caramel-coloured creme, and Call of the Wild, a slightly sheer, red-tinged dark brown creme. This is the first manicure I did with my (then) brand new dotting tools, and my first attempt at leopard print! Lol, lots of firsts. The On Safari collection as a whole is pretty wonderful – there isn’t a colour I don’t love and, though I haven’t used too many of them yet, the formulas all seemed very good when I swatched them on my nail wheels. I spent most of last fall looking for the perfect “pumpkin pie” shade (my favorite desert) and never found one, but i think Desert Sun fits the bill perfectly. As a collection, I think this is probably one of my favorites (from any brand) to date. I feel like they’ve created a really solid colour story here. With the weather starting to cool down, too, I’m really looking forward to wearing more of these shades.
