Lapis Lazuli Manicure

13 November, 2012 | Filed under: nail polish and tagged with: China Glaze Ride the Wave, Revlon Royal, Zoya Gilty, Zoya Purity

Thanks to the efforts of the lovely Poindextra, I am now the lucky owner of the Zoya Gilty Pleasure 18k Real Gold Topcoat box set (thanks lady!). I wanted to do something fun with it, so I did a lapis lazuli inspired manicure (this one’s for you, Erika <3). The base here is China Glaze Ride the Waves, to which I’ve added Revlon Royal and Zoya Purity (also from the box set) using the saran wrap method. I’ve also sponged on a little Purity in spots. Finally it’s topped off with one coat of Zoya Gilty, and a coat of Seche Vite. I originally didn’t plan on getting Gilty since I have a bottle of OPI Man With the Golden Gun and presumed they were more or less the same, but they really aren’t. Golden Gun is nice and all, but the flakes are much smaller than I expected. Glitzy is exactly what I wanted, it’s perfect. If you’re looking for a gold leaf topcoat, this is definitely the one to beat :)
